✨ Diwali: The Festival of Lights Returns to Toronto! ✨
Diwali isn’t just a festival — it’s an explosion of light, life, and color, where music, dance, food, and culture come together to light up the city. With over a thousand performers, vibrant markets, the aroma of spices, and a spectacular fireworks show, this year’s celebration promises to bring new energy to Toronto.
The Diwali – Festival of Lights takes place on Saturday and Sunday, October 11 and 12, from 12 PM to 10 PM at Nathan Phillips Square — and admission is free for everyone.
More than 1,000 local and international artists will perform on stage. The list of special guests hasn’t been announced yet, but last year’s appearance by the Mumbai Troupers and Bollywood actor Omi Vaidya suggests we can expect even bigger names this time.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of Indian street food and fusion dishes, alongside colorful artisan markets that bring the lively atmosphere of India’s streets right into the heart of Toronto. The night will culminate in a spectacular fireworks and laser show.
Known worldwide as the “Festival of Lights,” Diwali is one of the most significant cultural and religious celebrations in the Hindu community. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil, with millions around the world illuminating their homes and cities with lamps, candles, and lanterns.
دیوالی فقط یک جشن نیست، انفجار نور و زندگی است؛ جایی که موسیقی، رقص، غذا و فرهنگ در کنار هم، خیابانهای شهر را زنده میکنند. این فستیوال با هزار هنرمند، بازارهای رنگارنگ، عطر ادویهها و آتشبازی باشکوه، امسال قرار است حالوهوای تازهای به شهر ببخشد.
فستیوال Diwali – Festival of Lights در روزهای شنبه و یکشنبه ۱۱ و ۱۲ اکتبر از ساعت ۱۲ ظهر تا ۱۰ شب در میدان Nathan Phillips برگزار میشود و ورود برای همه رایگان است.
در این فستیوال، بیش از هزار هنرمند محلی و بینالمللی روی صحنه خواهند رفت. هنوز نام مهمانان ویژه فاش نشده، اما سال گذشته حضور گروه Mumbai Troupers و بازیگر بالیوودی Omi Vaidya نشان داد که باید منتظر چهرههای جذابتری باشیم.
همچنین، غرفههای مختلف با غذاهای خیابانی و فستفودهای ترکیبی هندی از مهمانان پذیرایی خواهند کرد.
در کنار آن، بازار فروش صنایعدستی و کالاهای سنتی، فضای پرشور خیابانهای هند را به قلب تورنتو میآورد. آتشبازی بزرگ همراه با نمایش لیزری نیز نقطه اوج این جشن خواهد بود.
جشن دیوالی که در سراسر جهان به عنوان «جشن نور» شناخته میشود، یکی از مهمترین مناسبتهای مذهبی و فرهنگی در میان کامیونیتیهای هندو است.
این جشن نمادی از پیروزی نور بر تاریکی و خیر بر شر است و هر سال میلیونها نفر در سراسر دنیا خانهها و شهرهای خود را با چراغ، شمع و فانوس روشن میکنند.
