The traditional Easter Parade in Toronto’s Beaches neighborhood will be held for the 58th time this year on Sunday, April 20.

This parade, considered one of the city’s most popular spring traditions, was first launched in 1967 to mark Canada’s centennial and has been held regularly ever since.

In its early years, the parade even featured live elephants, but today it has evolved to include marching bands, dancers, clowns, decorative floats, and more — all of which continue to bring vibrant energy to the area.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM.

The route will start at the intersection of Queen Street East and Neville Park Boulevard, continue west to Woodbine Avenue, head south, and end at Lake Shore Boulevard East.

Due to the parade, some roads in the Beaches area will be closed on Sunday, April 20:

• 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM: Partial closure of Queen Street East from Munroe Park Avenue to Fallingbrook Road
• 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM: Full closure of Queen Street East and Nursewood Road in the same area
• 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM: Full closure of Queen Street East from Woodbine to Fallingbrook
• 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM: Full closure of Woodbine Avenue from Queen East to Lake Shore East, and Lake Shore East from Coxwell to Woodbine
