If you want to visit the world’s largest television museum, you’ll have only two days to do so for free during the Doors Open Toronto event.
Toronto is home to the largest television museum in the world, where you can explore over 10,000 objects related to the history of television.
This museum, called the MZTV Museum of Television, is located in the ZoomerPlex building at 64 Jefferson Ave.
The Toronto television museum is usually open to visitors from Tuesday to Friday, 2 PM to 5 PM, and on Saturdays from 10 AM to 6 PM.
This year, during the Doors Open Toronto event, admission to the museum will be free on Saturday and Sunday, May 24 and 25.
At this museum, you can see a unique collection of television sets dating from the 1920s to the 1980s.
Among the special items in the collection are TVs once owned by iconic American stars Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley.
The museum also features exhibitions dedicated to two pioneers of television: John Logie Baird and Philo T. Farnsworth. Farnsworth proposed the idea of electronic television at the age of 14, and Baird was the first person to transmit a recognizable moving image.
