One of the largest Lunar New Year celebrations in Toronto is back this year, marking the arrival of the Year of the Snake this weekend.
Toronto’s Chinatown will host vibrant festivities that honor the symbols of wisdom, energy, and transformation associated with this year.

This celebration, observed in Asian communities worldwide, began on Wednesday, January 29th, and after 15 days of festivities, it will culminate in one of the most exciting events of the year in Toronto.

The Chinatown celebrations will take place on Saturday and Sunday, February 1st and 2nd, at two locations: Dragon City Mall and Chinatown Centre.

At the festival, you’ll witness the Lion Dance, a central tradition of Lunar New Year celebrations around the world.
Other highlights include magic shows, Sichuan Face Changing performances, belly dancing, live music, and Kung Fu demonstrations.
There will also be booths selling Chinese art and crafts.

Simultaneously, celebrations and fireworks will light up various locations across Toronto, including:
